STATE HOUSE - CONCORD
4/4/2006

Summary:
Today, NHSBA President Susan Allen testified before the New Hampshire House Education Committee in support of the Governor’s Drop Out Age Bill (SB 268). That bill increases the current drop out age of 16 to age 18. On behalf of NHSBA, President Allen noted that “many resources currently exist to address the impact of the proposed increase in the drop out age.” President Allen also stated that “there is significant cost to our towns and school districts if we don’t begin to address our drop out challenges in a positive and meaningful manner, and the Governor’s Bill does just that.” NHSBA strongly favors SB 268, and urges all members to contact their local legislators to support this critically important initiative.
